Kickin' It Up!

The past few weeks of summer have been pretty busy for Alex. He just completed two weeks of swimming lessons. He still won't go down the big slide, but he has definitely improved his swimming skills this year. He learned and practiced all sorts of techniques, to include front float, front glide, back float, back glide, changing direction of travel while swimming, and water safety rules, among other things. And just two weeks ago marked the start of soccer season. This is the first time he has participated in team sports. More than anything, I just want Alex to learn how to have fun out there. I want him to learn good sportsmanship and play well with his teammates. That's what it's all about when you're in the pee-wee league anyway, right? Here are some pictures I took of his first game:


Ryan is still learning how to enunciate more effectively. It's been a little harder than it was with Alex. Perhaps it's because we don't read to Ryan as much as we read to Alex. We try to read stories before bedtime every night, but that doesn't always happen. Still, he's doing great. Everyone has their own, unique pace. He'll get there soon.

Let's wrap this up with an update on William. His top two teeth have finally broken through... what a relief! He is getting so big. His favorite mode of transportation right now is crawling, but he also loves to climb on top of anything in sight. Now that he has four teeth, we've been giving him Cheerios and little puffs. That's always fun to clean up when he's done! :)
